Photo #: 80-G-172517 Camouflage Measure 32, Design 22D Drawing prepared by the Bureau of Ships for a camouflage scheme intended for escort ships of the DE-339 (John C. Butler) class. This plan, approved by Captain Torvald A. Solberg, USN, is dated 5 April 1944. It shows the ship's port side. Note: The color of the lighter patch amidships was originally labeled "5-O" (Ocean Gray), but that the "O" has been partially erased. Presumably that area should be "5-L" (Light Gray). Other light areas on this drawing appear to have also had the "O" erased, with "L" added instead. Official U.S. Navy Photograph, now in the collections of the National Archives.
