USS Shaw (DD-373)


In drydock at the Mare Island Navy Yard, California, for installation of a new bow, circa February-March 1942. Shaw's midships and after hull, which had survived the explosion of her forward magazines during the 7 December 1941 Pearl Harbor raid, is at right. The new bow, still largely in frame, is at left, surrounded by scaffolding.
