Iwo Jima Operation, 1945


Burning U.S. supply dump on the east-central coast of Iwo Jima, 21 February 1945.
Note several LVTs in the area. A Japanese T-1 type landing ship is beached perpendicular to the shore, with its bow toward the beach, in the upper left center. It has a large hole blown into its port side amidships.
