Photo #: 80-G-386387 Surrender of Japan, 1945 A Japanese landing craft brings the Japanese representatives to ceremonies surrendering the Bonin Islands, off Chichi Jima, 3 September 1945. Ceremonies were held on board USS Dunlap (DD-384). Note double prow and white flag of this craft. Also awning rigged to protect the passengers.
