Aviation Radioman First Class W.J. Gilstrap


Receives the Distinguished Flying Cross from Rear Admiral William K. Harrill, at Naval Air Station Alameda, California, on 12 December 1942.
He had been awarded the medal for his performance as radioman/gunner in Torpedo Squadron Two (VT-2) during the Battle of the Coral Sea in May 1942.
