Chief Storekeeper Ralph A. Boyd, USN


Greets his family as they arrived at Yokohama, Japan, in November 1951. They were among the first dependents to arrive in Japan since the outbreak of the Korean War.
Family members include (from left): Mrs. Margaret I. Boyd, William B. Boyd, Russel P. Boyd (held by his father) and Margaret K. Boyd.
The ship that brought them from the U.S. was either USNS General M.M. Patrick (T-AP-150) or USNS General Edwin D. Patrick (T-AP-124).
Photo is dated 5 November 1951.
