Photo #: 80-G-466193 U.S. Army Transport Hunter Liggett Photographed circa 3 February 1941, while taking part in fleet landing exercises in the Caribbean. Note Higgens-type landing craft on her deck, just aft of the midships superstructure, and U.S. flag painted on her hull side as a neutrality marking. This ship was taken over by the U.S. Navy about four months later and became USS Hunter Liggett (AP-27). Official U.S. Navy Photograph, now in the collections of the National Archives.
