Lieutenant (Junior Grade) Thomas J. Hudner, USN


Is congratulated by President Harry S. Truman, after being presented with the Medal of Honor at the White House, 13 April 1951.
He received the award for heroically attempting to rescue Ensign Jesse L. Brown, who had been shot down by enemy fire near the Chosin Reservoir, North Korea, on 4 December 1950.
His parents, Mr. & Mrs. Thomas J. Hudner, Sr., are among those present.
