S.S. Antilles (American Passenger-Cargo Ship, 1907)
Underway, prior to World War I.
Built by William Cramp & Son at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, for
the Southern Pacific Company, Antilles was torpedoed and
sunk on 17 October 1917, while operating as a troopship for the
U.S. Army. At the time she was two days out from Quiberon Bay,
France, en route to the U.S. Antilles reportedly sank
in four and one-half minutes.
