Puget Sound Naval Station, Bremerton, Washington
View looking north from the walk leading toward the drydock,
circa 1896-1897. Structures seen in the distance include (from
left-center to right): the flagstaff and hospital (former office
building); pumping house; and wharf.
In the middle distance are the pontoon bridge, with a whale boat
under repair on its deck and the small yard tug Fucca
alongside. At the bridge end is the barracks ship Nipsic.
Partially visible beyond Nipsic is the USC&GS ship Hassler.
Note bicycle leaning on a tree at left.
