World War I Ship Camouflage
Making models of merchant ships and warships, for use by designers
to test new patterns of "dazzle" painting or other
camouflage. The worker at left is cutting out model parts on
a jigsaw, while the man in the center is filing parts to shape.
The woman at right is assembling a model ship.
Note the chart in the right background, with silhouettes of various
types of merchant ships.
Photograph dated 10 February 1919, but probably taken at least
several months earlier.
