Honda Point disaster, September 1923


Wreck of USS S.P. Lee (DD-310), just offshore at Honda Point, California, 4 December 1924, after the ship had been substantially broken up by wave action. The view looks northward, with the galley deckhouse and boilers marked on the print.
In the upper right center, also marked, is the galley deckhouse (with two 4"/50 guns still mounted) of USS Nicholas (DD-311).
