USS Carondelet (1862-1865)


Engraving published in "The Century Magazine", depicting Carondelet passing the Confederate fortress on Island Number Ten, Mississippi River, during the stormy night of 4 April 1862. The engraving is from an drawing by Harry Fenn, after a sketch by Rear Admiral Henry Walke, who commanded Carondelet at the time.
A virtually identical print appears in "Battles and Leaders of the Civil War", Volume I, page 440.
