U.S. Navy Destroyer running trials, circa 1920


She is flying the New York Shipbuilding Corporation house flag and carries four 5"/51 guns, a battery fitted to only a few ships.
Based on comparison with other photographs, this destroyer is probably either USS Gilmer (DD-233) or USS Kane (DD-235).
