Five passenger steamers tied up at the Chelsea Piers, circa early
1917, before the United States entered World War I.
SS Kroonland is at right, with her name painted on her
side. She later became USS Kroonland (ID # 1541).
Tug Victor J. Newton is in the center of the image, with
her stern toward the camera.
