Sinking the German corvette Nimet Allah during the Southern France Operation, 17 August 1944. A large splash or explosion can be faintly seen in the left center.
Helmets on watching men indicate that this photograph may have been taken from a British ship, perhaps HMS Aphis or HMS Scarab.
