British Kent Class Cruiser
Fitting out at a British shipyard, circa 1926 (possibly 1 August
1926).
Despite the inscription on the original photograph, this is not
HMS Devonshire, which was of the later London class
and did not have the hull bulges seen on this ship. Also note
the short smokestacks, which were substantially lengthened immediately
after the Kent class cruisers (Kent, Berwick,
Cornwall, Cumberland, and Suffolk) were
completed.
