The original print was accompanied by the following contemporary text: "Capt. D.E. Dismukes, who has guided the Mt. Vernon since March 1918 - a most popular Captain - the crew would do anything for him. A Captain who's only thought is for the comfort of his crew, and safety of his ship and passengers."
