Steamship Allegany (1863-1865)
Watercolor by Erik Heyl, 1950, painted for use in his book "Early
American Steamers", Volume I.
This steamship served as USS Neptune during 1863-1865
and was lost in December 1865, shortly after entering commercial
service under the name Allegany.
