(American Freighter, 1918)

Underway, probably during her builder's trials on 5 July 1918.
Constructed by the Moore Shipbuilding Company of Oakland, California, and originally named Shintaku, this ship served with the Naval Overseas Transportation Service in 1918-1919 as USS Alloway (ID # 3139).
Note her "dazzle" camouflage scheme.
