(American "Liberty" Tanker, 1944)

Steams away from her builder's yard upon completion, 15 February 1944.
Constructed by the Delta Shipbuilding Company, New Orleans, Louisiana, this ship was delivered to the Navy on the following day and placed in commission as USS Stag (IX-168). She was converted to a water distilling ship during March-August 1944 and redesignated AW-1.
