View on the Academy waterfront, with the tug Standish (1865-1921) alongside the wharf, during the later 1800s.
Standing in the left foreground is John H. Knowles, who had lashed Rear Admiral David Glasgow Farragut to the rigging of USS Hartford during the Battle of Mobile Bay in August 1864.
Note the details of Standish's superstructure, smoke stack, rigging and ventilators.
