View of the wrecked bow section, severed from the rest of the ship by the explosion of her forward magazines during the 7 December 1941 Japanese air raid on Pearl Harbor. Photographed in the floating drydock YFD-2 on 11 January 1942, as salvage operations were underway. Guns visible are Shaw's forward 5"/38 mounts.
