(American Freighter, 1913)

Underway, prior to World War I.
This ship was placed in commission as USS Buenaventura (ID-1335) on 26 July 1918 and was torpedoed and sunk on 16 September 1918.
Spelled Buena Ventura by some sources, her name is painted on her bow as a single word in this photograph.

The original photograph is in Record Group 19-LCM in the National Archives.
