Grumman F9F-2 "Panther" Jet Fighter,
from USS Antietam (CV-36)
"Panther on Prowl -- Like a lone panther stalking its prey,
a Navy Panther jet from New York's fighter squadron aboard the
aircraft carrier USS Antietam in Korean waters, skims over the
clouds en route to a Communist target. The plane is a part of
fighter squadron VF-837, a veteran of four months combat in Korea,
and originally from the Naval Air Station, Floyd Bennett Field,
N.Y."

Far East, under date of 5 March 1952.
