Actress Doris Day
"Waiting on the dock to greet the anti-aircraft cruiser
U.S.S. Juneau on its recent return to Long Beach, Calif.,
from the Far East was the lovely Warner Brothers' star, Doris
Day. During Miss Day's three hour visit aboard the Juneau
she was escorted by a 16 man host committee, made up of a representative
of each division aboard ship. Doris was guest of honor at dinner
in the crew's mess hall and spent time visiting with crew members
as she made her tour of the veteran cruiser."
"She is pictured here holding a bouquet of red roses just
presented to her by Bernie W. Boyer, PN3, left ..., on behalf
of the Juneau crew. The bouquet was made up of 16 roses,
one representing each division aboard ship. James E. Stanford,
SN, ... looks on." (Quoted from original caption)
This photo is not dated, but was published in "All Hands"
