Photo #: NH 98679
USS Oklahoma City (CLG-5)
View from the ship's foredeck, looking aft at her gun battery
and forward superstructure, with anchor chains in the foreground.
Photograph was received in August 1972. It was probably taken
during naval gunfire support operations off Vietnam earlier that
year, as the paint on the ship's 6"/47 gun barrels appears
to be charred and blistered from the heat of firing.
Official U.S. Navy Photograph, from the collections of the
Naval Historical Center.
