USS Atlanta (IX-304)
Shock mounted data recorders on board Atlanta, photographed
as she was completing conversion to a weapons effects test ship
at the Hunters' Point Naval Shipyard, San Francisco, California,
circa October 1964.
The original picture caption, released by 12th Naval District
Office of Public Information, reads: "The measuring devices
channel the desired data to shock mounted recorders deep in the
ship. The shock mounting system ensures the continued recording
of data during the tests."
