Akbar
(American Motor Boat, 1915)

Underway prior to World War I.
This pleasure craft was purchased by the State of Maine for section patrol work in local waters, in anticipation that she would be taken over for First World War Naval use. The Navy purchased her on 17 May 1917 and placed her in commission on 31 May as USS Akbar (SP-599). She was decommissioned on 17 January 1919, stricken from the Navy list on 2 October 1919 and sold on 2 January 1920.
