S.S. Berkshire
(American River Passenger Steamer, 1908)

Halftone reproduction of an artwork, depicting the ship using her searchlight while underway on the Hudson River prior to World War I.
The 4300 gross ton side wheel steamer Berkshire was built by the New York Shipbuilding Company at Camden, New Jersey. She was very similar to the steamship C.W. Morse (built 1903), which served as the U.S. Navy receiving ship C.W. Morse (ID # 1966) in 1917-1919. The original print of this image is mounted on the official data card for C.W. Morse.
