Chanticleer
(American Motor Boat)

Anchored off a recreational bathing beach, prior to World War I.
This boat, built by Wilton C. Crosby and owned by H.S. Hutchinson of New Bedford, Massachusetts, was acquired by the Navy on 21 May 1917 and placed in commission the next day as USS Chanticleer (SP-663). She was returned to her owner on 25 November 1918.
