Clarinda
(American Motor Yacht, 1913)

Underway while dressed with flags, probably soon after completion.
This photograph was printed on an advertising card for her builder, the Matthews Boat Company of Port Clinton, Ohio. See Photo # NH 100860-A-KN for a reproduction of the reverse side of the original card.
Clarinda was acquired by the U.S. Navy on 5 July 1917 and placed in commission on 21 November 1917 as USS Clarinda (SP-185). Following more than a decade of post-World War I service, she was sold on 1 June 1931.
