USS Cossack (SP-695)
Photographed circa 1919, after removal of her World War I armament.
Built in 1916, the fast (23 miles per hour) motor pleasure boat
Cossack was acquired by the Navy on 21 April 1917 and
placed in commission on 1 May of that year. Among the modifications
she received during her Naval service was the addition of an
enclosed pilot house. USS Cossack was stricken on 27 March
1919 and transferred to the U.S. Coast Guard on 22 November 1919.
