Eagle
(American Motor Boat, 1909)

Photographed prior to her World War I era Naval service.
This pleasure craft was built in 1909 by J.M. Bayles & Son of Port Jefferson, Long Island, New York. Owned by Colonel William Hester of Brooklyn, New York, she was taken over by the Navy on 2 May 1917 and placed in commission on 10 September 1917 as USS Eagle (SP-145). Renamed SP-145 in 1918, she was stricken from the list of Naval vessels on 11 March 1919 and sold on 25 June 1919.
