USS Katherine K (SP-220)


Photographed during World War I.
Built in 1894, this small motor tug was acquired by the Navy and commissioned on 10 July 1917. Sold in 1919, she was lost in the Key West, Florida, hurricane on 9-10 September of that year, prior to delivery to her purchaser.
As a civilian tug prior to World War I, her name was spelled Katherine K..

The original print is in National Archives' Record Group 19-LCM.
