At anchor, prior to World War I.
She was acquired by the Navy on 11 August 1917 and commissioned on 7 October 1917 as USS May (SP-164). She ran aground off Cape Engano, Santo Domingo, on 27 July 1919 and her wreck was abandoned as unsalable on 23 June 1923.
