Politesse (Motor Boat, 1911)
At the Boston Navy Yard, Charlestown, Massachusetts, circa 1917.
The steam launch at right has a life ring bearing the inscription
"Receiving Ship At Boston".
This pleasure craft was acquired by the Navy for World War I
service and commissioned on 15 April 1917 as USS Politesse
(SP-662). She was returned to her owner on 29 May 1919.
