USS Quest (SP-171)


In port during World War I.
She was built in 1916 by the Greenport Basin and Construction Company, Greenport, Long Island, under the name Whippet and had the same hull design as a class of submarine chasers constructed for Russia. Quest was acquired by the Navy on 26 July 1917, commissioned on 8 September 1917, and returned to her owner on 7 January 1919.
