USS Sturdy (SP-82)


In port during the World War I era, possibly while awaiting disposal in 1919-1920.
Built in 1905 as a pleasure craft, this motor boat was acquired by the Navy on 25 May 1917 and placed in commission as USS Sturdy (SP-82) on 25 June 1917. She was stricken from the Navy list on 13 January 1920 and sold on 30 March of that year.
Note the large pilothouse behind and above her deckhouse. This was installed during her Navy service.
