Sylvia (American Motor Boat)
Underway, prior to World War I.
Acquired by the Navy on 15 June 1917, this pleasure craft was
commissioned on 4 September 1917 as USS Sylvia (SP-471)
and became USS SP-471 in early 1918. Stricken on 24 April
1919, she was awaiting sale at Key West, Florida, when she was
destroyed by a hurricane in September 1919.
