USS Virginia (SP-1965)
Photographed during World War I.
Built in 1902 as a two-masted schooner, the pleasure craft Virginia
was leased by the Navy in December 1917 and commissioned as USS
Virginia on 21 January 1918. Her name was soon changed
to SP-1965. She was returned to her owner on 3 January
1919.
