Wave (American Fishing Vessel, 1912)
In port, prior to World War I. The "B" on her smokestack
is the mark of her owner, the Bay State Fishing Company of Boston,
Massachusetts.
This steam trawler, which had Navy registry ID # 1706, was ordered
delivered for World War I service in June 1917 and again in June
1918. However, the Navy did not actually take her over, and she
remained in the hands of her owner throughout the conflict.
The original print is in National Archives' Record Group 19-LCM.
