Winifred
(American Tanker, 1898)

Photographed before her World War I Naval service.
This steamer was placed in commission for cross-Channel service at Liverpool, England, on 21 June 1918 as USS Winifred (ID # 1319). She was returned to her owner, the Gulf Refining Company, on 13 March 1919.
Note the "G" marking on her smokestack.

The original photograph is in Record Group 19-LCM in the National Archives.
