Congress (American Motor Boat, 1914)
In port, possibly when inspected by the Fifth Naval District
on 17 May 1918.
This fishing vessel, owned by A. Foster of Grimstead, Virginia,
was acquired by the Navy in October 1918. She had reportedly
already been placed in commission, on 25 September 1918, as Congress
(ID # 3698). The boat was sold on 23 September 1919 (and possibly
resold on 8 December) and delivered to her purchaser, Sallie
S. Thorns of West Norfolk, Virginia, on 24 December 1919.
