S.S. Coastwise
(American Collier, 1910) -- at right

In an icy harbor, possibly in the New York City area, where she was inspected by the Third Naval District on 23 February 1918. The ship at left is S.S. Georgia.
Coastwise was considered for World War I Naval service, and assigned the Navy registry ID # 2442, but remained in civilian operation. Her owner was the Coastwise Transportation Company of Boston, Massachusetts.
