Dawn
(American Yawl, 1916)

Under sail in northeastern U.S. waters, circa 1916-1917.
This pleasure craft, owned by Franklin Farrel Jr., of Ansonia, Connecticut, was ordered to be delivered to the Navy by letter of 14 May 1917. Assigned the registry # SP-37, she was apparently unsuitable for Naval purposes as the lease agreement covering her was cancelled on 7 June 1917. Dawn was returned to her owner on 18 December 1917.
