USS President Lincoln
(1917-1918)

A U.S. Army band playing on board the ship, as she steamed through the submarine zone en route to France, November 1917. A hand-written inscription on the back of the original print identifies this as the "Indiana Band".
Note the campaign hats and life preservers worn by these Soldier musicians.
