Scale model on exhibit in the Navy Memorial Museum, Building 76, Washington Navy Yard, Washington, D.C., circa 1973-1975.
The model, owned by the Naval Sea Systems Command, is in 1/4 inch = 1 foot scale.
This view looks eastward across the Museum, toward the Civil War (right) and Spanish-American War (left) exhibit areas. At the time this photograph was taken, the Sampson model was one of several ship models on display in this part of the building's west side, along with an exhibit of World War I artworks by Vernon Howe Bailey.
