Lieutenant Abraham DeSomer, USN


At the Fleet Air Base, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii at the time of his retirement ceremony, probably in September 1931. He wrote on the reverse side of the photograph, "Why shouldn't I have a big smile? This was the day I retired from active duty ... after more than 30 years of continuous service"
Note the emergency fire box partially visible at right.
