Elmasada
(American Motor Boat, 1909)

Coarse screen halftone reproduction, copied from a contemporary publication, of a photograph showing Elmasada underway prior to 1917.
Built in 1909 by Robert Jacobs of City Island, New York, this pleasure craft was purchased for World War I Navy service from C.B. Fox of New Orleans, Louisiana. Commissioned on 4 June 1917 as USS Elmasada (SP-109), she was stricken from the Navy list on 20 May 1919 and transferred to the U.S. Light House Service.
